Each piece of Knif equipment is designed from the ground up. Every unit has to provide a new and meaningful approach and serve a purpose.

BEST OF ALL WORLDS

We implement a variety of technologies, both old-world and modern, based on their convenience. Hence, vacuum tubes are used where they deliver, often implemented in perfect harmony with both discrete solid state devices and state-of-the-art integrated circuits. This allows us to design circuits that have transparency and predictability like nothing else. The same approach applies to our choice of manufacturing technologies - we use whichever technique that best suits the purpose.

KNIF QUALITY

EXTENDED LIFETIME

Knif equipment is designed for a long operational life with effortless maintainability. Wearing parts, such as switches and connectors, are placed as separate units (instead of a large common PCB) for ease of exchange when a single component has reached the end of it’s life. XLR-connectors are exclusively chassis mounted with PTFE insulated leads to the PCB. This approach results in reduced mechanical stress to the components. All signal contacts on the circuit boards are either soldered directly or, in most cases, via soldering turrets for ease of repair.
